Apparently, in the 1880's-1930's, some considered that these lizards used their frills to parachute down from the canopy. Others thought the frill regulated body temperature. Some thought food storage? Now the frill is considered part of communication...https://t.co/Jr7VWTuidQ https://t.co/YH577NnWSu

New lyrics to an old tune
Australians let us stand as one, upon this sacred land
A new day dawns, we’re moving on to trust and understand.
Combine our ancient history and cultures everywhere,
To bond together for all time, advance Australia fair.
With joyful hearts then let us sing, advance Australia fair.
...
Australians let us all be one, with peace and harmony.
Our precious water, soil and sun, grant life for you and me.
Our land abounds in nature’s gifts to love, respect and share,
And honouring the Dreaming, advance Australia fair.
With joyful hearts then let us sing, advance Australia fair.
...
Australians let us strive as one, to work with willing hands.
Our Southern Cross will guide us on, as friends with other lands.
While we embrace tomorrow’s world with courage, truth and care,
And all our actions prove the words, advance Australia fair,
With joyful hearts then let us sing, advance Australia fair.
...
And when this special land of ours is in our children’s care,
From shore to shore forever more, advance Australia fair.
With joyful hearts then let us sing, advance . . Australia . . fair.

This 2017 Australian, M classified film, (based on Craig Solvey's 2009 novel of the same name), could compare favourably with the novel 'To Kill a Mockingbird.' Racism, justice and coming of age are major themes in both. JJ is set in 1965 while TKM is set during the Great Depression. Both highlight how particular social values of the era impact negatively on younger people, but some dare to challenge social norms. Scout in TKM is growing through her years of 6-9 while Charlie is almost 14. JJ is set in the West Australian fictional mining town of Corrigan, while TKM is set in the fictional town of Maycomb. Both consider unjust accusations hurled at selected people, simply based on race.

Murriyang...
The melodious 'Murriyang' - a Wiradjuri word - represents the 'skyworld' where the creator spirit Biyaami lives and now is the new name for the Parkes telescope in western NSW. Old and new spirits are connecting it seems. Great win for NAIDOC Week. https://t.co/Gv48Jl8EAl pic.twitter.com/ymau6qk27W

I didn't know there was that response in '08 there. I attended Obama's 1st inauguration in a theater and found myself crying in a back seat from the accumulated stress of recession and everything - it just really tapped something.

They’ll have a chance to do more soon. The Senate run-offs are scheduled for Jan. 5. The New Georgia Project is already posting memes that advise young people who turn 18 before Dec. 7 that they will be eligible to be part of the youth turnout for the first time. If they vote the same way other teens and twentysomethings voted in the general election, this generation of Georgians could offer the new President the missing key to his first term: Democratic power in the Senate. With the country's highest youth voter turnout, Georgia's young people played a key role in the 2020 election https://t.co/neJYadHtAy

Sounds about right.
Seeing a lot of confusion about President Trump's whereabouts. He's not attending the press conference in Philadelphia with his legal team, which is not at the Four Seasons Hotel but Four Seasons Total Landscaping. The president meanwhile is at his golf course in Virginia.
— Kaitlan Collins (@kaitlancollins) November 7, 2020
And wouldn't ya know? Total Landscaping has poor reviews on Google. Very very low ratings. Apparently they can't keep their shit straight. Can't think of a better fit for this really important meeting.
