chainsaw party...

Autumn is definitely chainsaw season...And with the advent of covid-19, I am sure that the chainsaw element of the season has never been so popular.  It used to be a weekend hazard for non-chainsaw lovers. But these days, any day can be chainsaw day. And today was definitely one of the best...It was a veritable orchestra round here of low brow to high brow buzzing and grinding and squealing...I am not sure when they actually stopped...because I could swear many chainsaws produce many, long-lasting echos...

wine customs...

The glass pictured above was taken at Portsea Hotel - dating back to 1876. The hotel is probably one of the oldest surviving businesses on my peninsula. The hotel overlooks Port Phillip Bay, so it offers indoor - including upstairs - and outdoor dining.

One day I may return there and enjoy the ambience of the grand old lady again...but not yet...

And yes...I know the image is not depicting a wine glass...I cheated, because I just like the hotel's insignia on the glass - which happens to be white...as is the summer 'liquid' inside...

just before nightfall...

Achieving a lot in one day can be very satisfying...But not today...

It was plain exhausting keeping pace with commenting on student drafts...last minute panic before an assessment is due...

Watching the old marking pile grow ever higher...

And still running other classes remotely of course...

My computer screen looked like a corroboree of tabs...a corroboree of demands and questions...

Feeling as though I am just not quite the capable teacher I would like to be...

May my broom keep sweeping...until tomorrow...

wicked day...
