Have you noticed that we are in the grip of a historic birth...the re-imagining of the word 'bubble' - we see 'travel bubble' and 'social bubble' and even 'household bubble' emerging...But will these terms become museum curiosities after the tsunami of covid-19 is done?#Covid_19 pic.twitter.com/fuFssNl0nK— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) May 9, 2020
Connecting moments in my peninsula world, my Australia and beyond...Whatever speaks to my thalassophile soul in these tidal days...

bubble thoughts...
Mum thoughts...
Even though both my children are adults nowso many Mums— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) May 9, 2020
tread the extra mile
for their children
so many children
tread the extra mile
without Mums#haiku #micropoetry pic.twitter.com/luwYnRGJJy
and living in different states of Australia from me
they are still my children...
I still would go the extra mile for them at any time...
My own Mum is quite another story...
she lived in her own dreamland...
her own garden...
and there was nothing I could do about it...
my furball seer...
— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) May 9, 2020I have never known a little animal to try so intensely to communicate...
Her eyes are wells within wells of thoughts...
Once her eyes lock with mine...I can feel her mind ticking...
She is also developing a range of various sounds
for when I don't get the eye to eye, mind to mind connection...
one...
— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) May 9, 2020Could it only be April 24th this year when I took this photo from the Dromana foreshore...
It seems to be a lifetime away...
Restrictions, weather pranks and too many remote learning demands
keep the option of a long walk
very distant...
a day in the life of procrastination...
It's a brave new morning...
Up early...5am...before the weather spins a predicted catastrophic dance...just for fun...
within an hour or so...
post a coffee or two
how quickly the weather gods tell me ...
'No walking...Do not pass 'go'...There is no Mayfair stop...
You have no choice...
Stay inside...
It's a marking day'...
'But...but...
There's shopping to do...I must do...I must eat...'
'OK then...
But go now...
We're gonna get worse...far worse than mere rain and chilled winds'...
(why is it
I always think of
a great tanka or haiku while driving
and by the time I get out of the car
I forget)
time has passed
it is now 3pm
I have been shopping for groceries
fed the furball
photographed the leftovers from the neighbour's chainsaw party yesterday
eaten lunch (for a change)
posted a few Twittery tweets
indulged in a tiny afternoon nap
changed the title of this post from
'weekend bliss?...wherein I have a chat with the weather gods...'
to 'a day in the life of procrastination'...
what's that?
you ask why?
well
the weather changed
the weather changed
my motivation to do more marking
It's still there
at the back of my mind
maybe... maybe tonight
but early tomorrow morning
is beginning to look like a great idea
I'll be more fresh
less likely to
what's the word I'm looking for?
procrastinate
yes...that's it
procrastinate
Now I'm off to watch 'Hearts and Bones'
well...
I did say I'd definitely watch it sometime or other this weekend...
Now seems like a great time...
P.S. It's now 3:52pm - barely an hour since I posted the sunny report...
And it's raining
raining
raining
raining...
real fairyland...

(Still in Queensland), if you can't get to bushland, and you happen to be in Brisbane City, there's another fairy door...a red one, down Burnett Lane in Queen Street Mall...

chainsaw dregs...
Quite frankly, I was horrified to see what had been done...Those plants were doing no harm...They had bonded together forming a natural hedge of privacy round the home...Do the owners realise that now their entertainment areas, indoors and out, are in full view of the street? It's a stage for publicising home life?o what a party it was— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) May 9, 2020
not till today's grainy light
did I see the full scale of
yesterday's chainsaw rampage
the long hangover, the dregs#tanka #MayTanka #NaTankaMo #5lines pic.twitter.com/curmgUqoRU
But who am I kidding...I know the real reason...Those plants blocked their views of the sea...It was all about a sea view...And plants were the scapegoat...
puzzle of life...
Reflection: It seems that my current (passing?) procrastination today - marking avoidance - may have a glimmer of an excuse...I need the balance...the puzzle of life is— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) May 8, 2020
