Sydney Opera House sails were illuminated with First Nations art for the 1st time during Vivid LIVE 2016, but never lit up with indigenous art on Australia Day.
2016 artist was Badu Gili.

After listening to the SBS Sunrise ceremony panel, I still believe the Australia Day date should stay. Changing means we're running away from history. It appears that NITV’s John Paul Janke is at Coolangatta and Narelda Jacobs is presenting from North Head, Manly.
And yes. The Sydney celebration is a separate event. The SBS Sunrise Ceremony will also broadcast worldwide through Maori Television

The date is a target, but there is no agreement about an alternative date.
Many still want a summer celebration...
Perhaps the answer lies in a different perspective.

Such a title as 'Australians Day' would focus on a 'meeting of cultures' rather than an invasion...
It would suggest moving forward...acknowledging the darker perspective, the history, but highlighting a' moving forward', the future...
