O what a fun name for a town!

This town, founded 1877, is 200km north of Adelaide in South Australia. Pop 218 at 2016 census.
It was announced in 2018 that the town's hotel would be closing 26th May 2018...Not sure if that remains a fact. https://t.co/Q5XE7X8OQU

In my wanders exploring what+how animals helped in war efforts, amazed to find image of an elephant pulling a plane.https://t.co/yrqPKrcR6q

Also, a shortage of horses in WWI (Western Front demands)- in Sheffield, an elephant (Lizzie) pulled ammunition.https://t.co/jft1pO7TY3 pic.twitter.com/P2ZE3T6Pfi

Australia as it was...
Early 19th C map of Australia is certainly interesting - finding no issue with a Van Diemen's land in the northwest of today's Northern Territory + New Holland, once Australia's name, is now 'squished' to a chunk of today's Western Australia + a portion of South Australia and NT. https://t.co/DOEzut8U6f
