Connecting moments in my peninsula world, my Australia and beyond...Whatever speaks to my thalassophile soul in these tidal days...

yellow-tailed black cockatoos...
The wings in this image are simply amazing... and the interaction clearly is intense... Wonderful photo...— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) June 28, 2020
These are yellow-tailed black cockatoos...
Apparently, they are thriving in Centennial Park, Sydney where there is an abundance of pine cones for them to feast on...
In recent years, loss of habit means that this species is in rapid decline...

the moment...
I've seen the persistant, stalking, cooing bows before, but never have I captured 'the moment' - or should I say 'the couple of seconds'. Pity the leaves blurred a little action. The two separated and proceeded to 'wash' themselves... at a distance but still on the same branch... pic.twitter.com/NrO7DTXcB2— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) June 28, 2020

ancient glaciers...
Tasmania - a place with soul... Sadly, this area I did not visit...but I was not living too far away...High country sculpted by ancient glaciers...and no road access... a glimpse of heaven... https://t.co/kabfLNFIfw— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) June 28, 2020
book a date with the universe...
My new self these days is rapidly becoming the old self I loved...the one who rejoiced in the world of books...In recent years...for many years, actually... I used the excuse of 'no time'...now, that excuse has evaporated...I am reading quite voraciously...books, articles, poems, comments... any collection of words... It's inspiring...In some strange way, reading connects with the universe... and sometimes, if you are open...the universe gives you answers that may have been elusive for a long, long time...A book is the home for minds to play, to reach out... to anyone... https://t.co/Phxy7QgRUa— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) June 27, 2020
In my sleep, I still go walking in Tasmania...— Tim Mallon (@PatMalo85776814) June 27, 2020
below zero today...
And now, just 10 minutes later, the temperature has dropped back to -1 degrees... And bravely, I have not yet put the ducted heating on... Very brave...or a bit crazy????PASSING THOUGHT: Early morning + the temp was -1 degree...Now it has warmed to 0 degrees at 8:00am... At least there is no chilled wind blowing + the sun is trying to shine...— Gemma Wiseman (@AuraGem) June 27, 2020
Strangely, it does not look as cold outside as it really is...
