novels set in Sydney...

There is the almost forgotten novel 'Kangaroo' (1923) by D.H.Lawrence. It was adapted as a film ('Kangaroo') in 1983 starring Colin Friels + Judy Davis. Another is Patrick White's 'The Eye of the Storm'.
