BUT BUT...All those suggestions are so sensible...so logical...That is not the way of the Australian government...This government cuts through the national obvious benefits+favours the select 'in crowd'.. at least, those select for now... till they too may face the trash can...

money and power...
And don't forget that the life of the average politician (I'm not counting a very rare few in that claim e.g. Penny Wong+Dan Andrews) boils down to money and power...

in these ruffled times...
In these ruffled times, those of us 'out of wack' with routine + feeling some self-pity don't need to look too far to find a far worse situation. So we just buckle up and keep driving. And perhaps assist/support others along the way. That will give a positive spin to our journey.

connecting with family...
My daughter lives in NSW with her boys...I've not seen them for 2+ years...I live in Melbourne too, + simply am grateful NOT to visit them...My daughter feels the same way...She doesn't want to bring a virus to Melbourne, to me...But we chat...There's always a way to connect...
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 27, 2021
I'm thinking of World War scenarios= family at home+family fighting in far-off countries. All they had were letters for connection, for hope - that is if the letters weren't 'red taped' censored or lost. We've more opportunities to connect with pandemic-ruled family. We're lucky.

in the Barnaby world...
Barnaby slurring his way through an incomprehensible defence of the coal industry.
— Robyn (@robynbryant33) September 25, 2021
Connect the dots Barnaby. If you’re pro fossil fuels you’re anti net zero. Just come right out and slur it.
— Robyn (@robynbryant33) September 25, 2021

earth tremor 5.4-6.0 magnitude...
MORE SURPISES: I think a quite significant earth tremor just occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 21, 2021
(2 significant house movements + floor shaking. In fact I held the table for stability.)
I am in Dromana on the hillside of Arthurs Seat.
My daughter lives in the Riverina, Temora southern NSW...She is saying people in her area felt it too...even though she did not...

According to the Temora Community on Facebook, the tremor was felt right from NSW central coast to Melbourne...https://t.co/W2vjT1hOYp

It is being said that this is the biggest earthquake in Melbourne for 100 years...This morning's large #earthquake (up to 6 magnitude) has been felt in #Tasmania, #SA, #NSW and of course #Victoria. #Epicentre was in #Mansfield, NE of #Melbourne. No tsunami threat, but there are early damage reports from parts of Victoria. pic.twitter.com/8OAImejQkd
— Madre Swift Justice - Cave Dweller (@JayStill4) September 22, 2021
So strange that this happened right after Daniel Andrews' early morning 8:15am presser (tremor @8:45am) where he said that the construction industry has been locked down for 2 weeks because it has 350 cases across 150 sites = larger number of cases than in aged care...This was the only industry allowed to remain open during the pandemic...But now he said that the industry needs a 're-set' - which could easily be translated as a 'shake-up' (and Mother Nature obliged to stand by him?)
I agree, thousands of tradies were saved from falling off scaffolding today. Bravo!
— Roland Gesthuizen (@rgesthuizen) September 22, 2021
Some nervous humour is emerging out of all this...It's a coping mechanism in these crazy times...Further interesting scenario, a 6.3 earthquake occurred in Chile just hours beforehand...The earthquake impacted Chile and Argentina...https://t.co/0sd8TniujF

— David Milner (@DaveMilbo) September 22, 2021
Here's the latest from Geoscience Australia:
— Chelsea Hetherington (@chelsea_hetho) September 22, 2021
- Initial #earthquake: magnitude 5.8 (downgraded from 6.0) at a depth of 10km at 9:15am
- Aftershock: magnitude 4.0 at a depth of 12km at 9:33am
- Aftershock: magnitude 3.1 at a depth of 6km at 9:54am
DONE...I felt it was the right thing to do for research purposes. I still can't believe the strong shaking of walls and floor vibrations I felt TWICE (one wave after the other, seconds apart) here in Dromana...Yet nothing fell from shelves...Totally weird...
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 22, 2021
When the police said they were deploying 'different tactics' in response to the Melbourne protests, firing up the earthquake machine was not something I had on the pick list. #earthquake #Melbourneearthquake

Hope+despair...tears+relief...a melting pot of 'I dunno's'...But I'm a high school teacher staring at the next nightmare of re-adjusting lessons to a staggered return to school...I think I'd better try to use this holiday break well+cultivate some super energy to keep going...
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 19, 2021Lots of faith here in Dan Andrews too. Even the tone of his voice is reassuring. As for chocolate, I am kidding myself along that chocolate-covered caramels, (Cadbury Pascal), are not so bad as a large block of chocolate. Just don't ask how long it takes me to eat a bag of them.
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 19, 2021
I can't believe it...The presser started at about 12:30pm and ended at 2:24pm...Just on 2 hours...(Poor Dan...The tough just keep marching the tough road)...At least most of the journalists' questions were a little more informed and respectful than usual...That was a pleasant surprise...

Port of Darwin and China?
The ABC article 12.3.19 has rather disturbing warnings associated with the Northern Territory gov.t's leasing of the Port of Darwin in 2015, without formal federal oversight...The story is murky, riddled with far too many questions+loopholes...And now? https://t.co/9Wtx0bVY4F

Not to mention, geographically, our potential' bigger war' is close to home and our 'allies' are further away...Our current allies have their own agenda too...It's not all about saving Australia...I wouldn't like to take bets on winning this one...
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 17, 2021
In these 'shady' times, it would be so reassuring to see our government formulating a plan to develop diplomatic ties with China, instead of planning to antagonise. But no such 'friendly' plan has been considered as valid. It is all about shifting blame+let's play war games...
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 17, 2021
Our pseudo leader only goes where, to him, the PR appeal looks best for his public persona+photo ops. After all, the U.S. is bigger than France and the UK speaks English. France definitely doesn't quite rank in his opinion. He thinks he's found a better offer from better allies.
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 17, 2021

Why? I don't see a problem...Lining up with the UK and the U.S. and dumping you in our deal is not all about vaccines...
PASSING THOUGHT: Never have I been so fired up about political shenanigans as I am these days. Never have I felt so gutted by so many of our politicians. I just can't be silent. So, I'll limit my outbursts to responses to others' posts+still aim to keep my timeline politics-free. pic.twitter.com/OK1yFbbnZ2
