So adore these quirky moments from the 'suburban front lines' as Anna calls them...

Connecting moments in my peninsula world, my Australia and beyond...Whatever speaks to my thalassophile soul in these tidal days...

my mask days continue...
My mask days coninue.
— 🇺🇦🌻Gemma Wiseman-on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) March 6, 2022
Supermarket shopping this morning I wore one + all Dromana IGA salespeople masked up but only about 75% of shoppers masked...
I also wear a mask at petrol stations...
I don't see a change in my habit any time soon...
My age is my underlying condition...

voluntary lockdown...
I've never been a social butterfly, but now I'm more a hermit than ever.
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) February 7, 2022
Some friends continue socialising, so I've not met up with them.
Just teach part-time+supermarket shopping (for the past 2 years).
I read+write.
Walks will increase post-tourist season on my peninsula.

herbs and spices amusement...
Perhaps supermarket shopping is not so bad...

dawn feathered chorus and I...
PASSING THOUGHT:
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) January 7, 2022
Out with the dawn feathered chorus this morning...
Supermarket shopping done+home by 7:33am...
Hardly anyone there...
Managed to buy everything I needed, even though some items looked a tad short of the usual offerings...
Feeling very fortunate...

missed my supermarket shopping window...
PASSING THOUGHT: Missed my pandemic-strapped, early morning 'supermarket shopping window' this morning...
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) January 4, 2022
(Blame the crazy weather...No...I'm not going later...)
On the plus side, that gives me more time to pack boxes????
Maybe I'll scroll Twitter for a little longer first... pic.twitter.com/Nvkm1qcus3

the universe has spoken...
PASSING THOUGHT: The Universe is stubborn. The message is getting louder=move on+out...2 days ago=a little damage to my car...I collected a gate when my foot on the accelerator spasmed with cramp. Last night=small earthquake. Today, a lettuce flew from a supermarket shelf at me🙁 pic.twitter.com/jDK2Gj74Lq

panic attacks...
Same here...My panic attacks are rising. A crowded carpark or supermarket will now turn me around for home. I don't/can't venture there. I try to pick my times when minimal numbers of people are around...

smirking milk dregs...
PASSING THOUGHT: Not motivated to do supermarket shopping that should have been done yesterday. Trying to find+activate some hope beyond lockdown seems somehow more important. But the milk dregs are 'smirking' at me. The little left may not give me a morning coffee tomorrow. 🙄

Just love David Milner's 'turn of phrase'...Always nails the mood, the climate + kickstarts a smile...
Anyone got any exciting plans for between this lockdown and the next one? I was thinking about going outside.

limbo land...
PASSING THOUGHT: It's 6:17am+still so very dark outside...My school's shut down online connections (building construction demands) till 11am...My furball's complaining loudly-she needs a 'top-up' of food (1st round of breakfast=not enough)...I'm idly scrolling Twitter...Limbo..🙄
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) August 6, 2021
I'm waiting for the supermarket to open at 7:00am...Then I will move to beat any possible crowds...I know many Melburnians rushed to my peninsula world when a week's lockdown was announced last Thursday...I don't want to risk that some may be early risers...Never has it been more true that 'less is more'...meaning more safe...

procrastination begone...
PASSING THOUGHT: Glad I stomped out my rising 'begin-the-weekend-with-procrastination' attitude = struggling to keep to 'early-shopping-is-covid-safer' goal...Supermarket shopping very very early today...And now, 11:00am...It's colder, more windy+misty and rainy...But I'm warm... pic.twitter.com/45umeMJ6nu

supermarket in lockdown...
Would you believe, this is an 8:00am view of Saturday morning at Dromana IGA... (Opens at 7:00am)...
— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) May 28, 2021
In total, I probably counted 4 maybe 5 customers in my wander round the aisles - not counting staff...
And yes...plenty of toilet rolls...
YEAH DROMANA... ❤️👏👏❤️ pic.twitter.com/cqQehU9G2j
lockdown day 2...
Lockdown Day 2 in Victoria - Digging around for courage to face the short supermarket journey very early morning...Snap journey in a snap lockdown sounds mathematically well-balanced...
