lockdown dry humour continues...

I have the locusts down for 11am and then the plague of frogs to come through on the change about 4.35pm.

There is a murder of crows in our yard….it’s over 😳😰

— Dean Pearman (he,him,his) (@deanpearman) September 22, 2021

I’m just going to put it out there.. I am out-of-office for excitement today.
Let me sit this one out PLEASE. 🙏🏻 #wallflower

The pandemic has brought a lot of self-reflection and personal growth for many of us. I, for instance, have switched from being a cereal guy to a toast guy.

— Bird Michael From Twitt℮r (@wtb_Michael) September 22, 2021

I can't help but feel rocked by Victoria's sudden jump in case numbers today...I think my afternoon nap may just start early...It's all I have left to 'keep a grip'...

when i complained about being bored & wanting some excitement, I just meant a minor political scandal I could obsess over on Twitter for a few days

Not earthquakes, riots & our highest ever day of new cases....

U2 “Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” just came on in Bunnings 😂👏

NSW and Alberta...

Alberta, Canada's disturbing news. 81.4% of Albertans aged 12+up have received at least one vaccine dose. A total of 72.8% of eligible Albertans are fully vaccinated. NSW wants to open up at 70%. Last Monday, Alberta=state of emergency.
I've NSW family... https://t.co/H8TEtPKAuV

vaxxed teachers...

I'm a secondary teacher and all teachers I know are double vaxxed (or will have had their 2nd by end of these school holidays)... A few chose the 3month space between AZ doses (as I did) and still will be vaxxed up by school's return...No one argued...It's just what we must do...

honorary knight...

PASSING THOUGHT: Learning to dodge 2021's daggers quite well...Yesterday's rise in Victoria's covid cases +surprise earthquake visitor causing some house structural damage+ongoing anxiety re school...Keep walking...Yes...Practice makes me an honorary knight of the round table...

— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 22, 2021

non-event...

PASSING THOUGHT: Great to see that a certain event in Melbourne today is not trending...
Even the media seem unusually quiet about it...
That's the answer...
No audience...
Unsold tickets...
No performance...
Curtains close...
Lights out...
Go home...

earth tremor 5.4-6.0 magnitude...

MORE SURPISES: I think a quite significant earth tremor just occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.
(2 significant house movements + floor shaking. In fact I held the table for stability.)
I am in Dromana on the hillside of Arthurs Seat.

My daughter lives in the Riverina, Temora southern NSW...She is saying people in her area felt it too...even though she did not...

— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 21, 2021

According to the Temora Community on Facebook, the tremor was felt right from NSW central coast to Melbourne...https://t.co/W2vjT1hOYp

This morning's large #earthquake (up to 6 magnitude) has been felt in #Tasmania, #SA, #NSW and of course #Victoria. #Epicentre was in #Mansfield, NE of #Melbourne. No tsunami threat, but there are early damage reports from parts of Victoria. pic.twitter.com/8OAImejQkd

— Madre Swift Justice - Cave Dweller (@JayStill4) September 22, 2021

It is being said that this is the biggest earthquake in Melbourne for 100 years...

So strange that this happened right after Daniel Andrews' early morning 8:15am presser (tremor @8:45am) where he said that the construction industry has been locked down for 2 weeks because it has 350 cases across 150 sites = larger number of cases than in aged care...This was the only industry allowed to remain open during the pandemic...But now he said that the industry needs a 're-set' - which could easily be translated as a 'shake-up' (and Mother Nature obliged to stand by him?)

I agree, thousands of tradies were saved from falling off scaffolding today. Bravo!

— Roland Gesthuizen (@rgesthuizen) September 22, 2021

Further interesting scenario, a 6.3 earthquake occurred in Chile just hours beforehand...The earthquake impacted Chile and Argentina...https://t.co/0sd8TniujF

— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 22, 2021

Some nervous humour is emerging out of all this...It's a coping mechanism in these crazy times...

No more horses of the apocalypse, please. Hope everyone OK. #earthquake

— Chief Health Officer, Victoria (@VictorianCHO) September 22, 2021

I think they accidentally summoned them when they sang Horses on the Westgate bridge yesterday...

How nice to forget about pressers and COVID! For a few seconds...

— fpvlfc (@fpvlfc) September 22, 2021

Well it helped me forget about the global pandemic for the first time in almost 2 years 😂

It's a slap in the face if WA doesn't open up to the national earthquake

— David Milner (@DaveMilbo) September 22, 2021

UPDATE:

Here's the latest from Geoscience Australia:
- Initial #earthquake: magnitude 5.8 (downgraded from 6.0) at a depth of 10km at 9:15am
- Aftershock: magnitude 4.0 at a depth of 12km at 9:33am
- Aftershock: magnitude 3.1 at a depth of 6km at 9:54am

— Chelsea Hetherington (@chelsea_hetho) September 22, 2021

DONE...I felt it was the right thing to do for research purposes. I still can't believe the strong shaking of walls and floor vibrations I felt TWICE (one wave after the other, seconds apart) here in Dromana...Yet nothing fell from shelves...Totally weird...

— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 22, 2021

When the police said they were deploying 'different tactics' in response to the Melbourne protests, firing up the earthquake machine was not something I had on the pick list. #earthquake #Melbourneearthquake

— Peter Clarke (@Renegadecrafts) September 21, 2021

Update: Today's earthquake in VIC has been updated to North of Rawson, VIC .

— Geoscience Australia (@GeoscienceAus) September 22, 2021

Ok. I’m done. This storyline has just gotten ridiculous. I believed the bit about pandemics and ok, maybe the riots. But earthquakes? We need new writers for this show.

UPDATE: Friday 24th September, 2021

vaccination not violence...

@robynbryant33
'I think #VaccinationNotViolence will trend today.'
Dan Andrews' snap presser@8:15am=so calming. That's a leader.
Many protesters acted 'under the guise of a demo'+'leaderless'.
'The behaviour of a few should not cast dispersions on an entire industry'.

— Gemma Wiseman - on Bunurong land, Kulin Nation (@AuraGem) September 21, 2021

tradies NOT in yesterday's protest...

So sad that voices in this thread will probably get little media airplay...
These are tradies who were not part of the protest yesterday in Melbourne...
There are many...
But somehow 'My lunchroom is a shaded spot and my Esky as a seat.' doesn't have sensational shock appeal... https://t.co/4u6Hi4Jj6r

update on 2nd AZ...

UPDATE on 2nd AZ yesterday...Still no headaches or dizziness + no sore arm...(unlike 1st AZ)...Perhaps the arm feels very slightly bruised (but doesn't look like it)...Glad I persevered waiting out the originally recommended 12 weeks' wait...
Feeling ever so grateful... pic.twitter.com/nlKFyf3mXG

can't sleep...

PASSING THOUGHT: Can't sleep...I feel sorry for the many Victorians watching their state being publicly fractured by the mob mania of a few. I feel sorry for the many Melburnians publicly represented as lacking integrity+resilience by the riotous few. I feel sorry for our Dan... pic.twitter.com/uijs5UU5Q7
