let it go...

P.S. I have also found Leunig's cartoons a great source for helping secondary students recognise, and form an understanding of, satire...

Natalie and her piano...

Her full name is Natalie Trayling.
'Melbourne’s love affair with Natalie Trayling began in the 1990s when she wandered into the David Jones department store one day and began to play its grand piano.' - 'The Australian' - July 13, 2019.

This musical piece below was composed between the age of 13 and 14 and finished some years later.

Natalie's YouTube channel is maintained by her son Matthew.

the universe and coffee...

Sometimes it's best to leave
the revolutions of time
to one who knows time best...

steampunk rabbit...

A little quirky always generates a little smile or two...

in praise of winter...

Winter may be the season of cold outdoors...
But bring some warm inner light
and the view
can be quite cosy...

beauty of a child...

As soon as I saw this image
I felt the feeling...
the bond
so close...
needing no words...

peeling bark...

I have always been enchanted by the multiple layers of beauty
of peeling bark...
new beauty...
almost every day...

through sun and shadow...

Shaddie is a paradox...

she can wait forever at an open door
deciding whether she wants
to stay in or go out...
the halfway option can often last 15 minutes or more...

and yet,

when need and curiosity kick in...
her determination in her movement
is unmistakeable...

plant with attitude?...

I passed this plant twice on my brief walk recently...
there and back...

each time it struck me
with impressions and symbolism...

poor plant...so alone...

but maybe the plant enjoyed
being grounded in its own special identity...

with no competition...

Auroras and Blossoms...

Was it only May 5 when I featured on the Auroras and Blossoms Poetry Journal blog...HERE

There is a small hope my poetry may travel and reach someone's soul...
